Although technology is often thought to act as a replacement for traditional learning strategies, in our classroom, we utilize technology to elevate learning and instruction. Technology is put in the hands of students in the forms of Chromebooks, iPads, Desktops, Laptops and even their own Smartphones (Mobile Learning Devices). Students will not only learn the curricular content this year, but will become proficient at using these tools as well as web-based platforms including Google Drive, Edmodo, Nearpod and much more.
Over the course of the year, students will turn in assignments online, take tests/quizzes online, write essays on Google Documents, prepare and study flashcards utilizing Quizlet, participate in "flipped classroom" activities on Nearpod and participate in online discussions. These new skills will lend to increased student responsibility as well as accountability.
